Dirigo youth athletes score at states.

Dirigo youth athletes had a big day at the Maine Class A Outdoor Track State Championships. Georgia Moon won the 3200 and placed second in the 1600, Laurel Driscoll scored across the distance triple for Scarborough, Sara Tennent ran on Falmouth's winning 4x800, and Allie Schmitt was fifth in the 2-mile while also contributing to a runner-up 4x800. Harper Borden, Sam Bergmark, Enzo Giampaolo, Freddie Brill, Grace Alexander, and Annabell Kimball were also part of a deep Dirigo presence across the state meet.

Spring podiums stretch from Sugarloaf to the track.

Dirigo stacked up spring results across distances. At Sugarloaf, Rich Alff ran 2:58:06 and Peter Burke ran 3:06:26 in the marathon, both winning age groups. In the 15K, Heather Gallant was third overall and first woman in 53:25, Karley Piers was fourth overall and second woman in 56:31, and Paula Rousseau, Travis Kroot, and Bella Robinson added strong age-group finishes. Dave Ouellette finished 12th overall at the Riverlands 100 in 27:50:47, Eric Sofen was second at Boots n Brews, and Dirigo youth athletes continued a strong outdoor track season.

Winter road racing sets the tone.

Dirigo opened the road season with depth at the Midwinter 10 Mile Classic and Irish Road Rover 5K. Karley Piers won the women's race at Midwinter in 1:00:02, with ClĂ­odhna O'Malley close behind in 1:00:16 and Veronica Graziano, Maria Remillard, Michelle Lilienthal, Maddie Sheehan, and Paula Rousseau helping put six Dirigo women in the top 80. At Irish Road Rover, Alexis Wilbert won the women's race in 17:27, with Nate Madeira, Jon Clement, and Pete Bottomley also turning in strong results.

A midsummer blue wave rolls through Maine.

Dirigo's midsummer stretch brought wins and podiums across Maine and New Hampshire. Sammy Mills won the Moxie 5K in 15:23, with Harrison Osborne five seconds back. Justin Freeman won the Bill Luti 5 Miler, Heather Gallant won Emily's Run, and Westbrook Strong saw wins from Romayn Richards and Karley Piers with Daniel Bannon, Chris Harmon, Kristin Barry, Thomas Harvey, Harvey Crider, and Harrison Crider adding to a big team day. Back Cove, MECTA, Yarmouth Clam Fest, and Tri for a Cure gave the club even more July results.

Dirigo's Thanksgiving week races were packed at the front. Veronica Graziano won the Portland Thanksgiving Day 4-Miler in 22:51, with Michelle Lilienthal second, Erica Jesseman fourth, Marah Borgman seventh, and Gretchen Speed eighth; Rob Ashby, Crow Norlander, Jon McGonagle, and Tim Stickney led the men's side. At the Greely Turkey Trot, Sheri Piers was second overall female and first 50+ in 18:16, while Will Spaulding, Dan Bannon, and Sam Chick were all inside the top 15 men. At the Maine Track Club Turkey Trot, Jonathan Clement returned in Dirigo colors with second in 17:08, Eric Sofen was fourth in 17:24, Christie Tebbetts was second woman in 21:23, and Hollie Corbett placed eighth.

Late-fall road and marathon results keep Dirigo rolling.

Dirigo's late-fall results stretched well beyond Thanksgiving week. Gretchen Speed won the Great Pumpkin 10K in 38:19, with Christie Tebbetts fifth, while Dan Bannon was third, Crow Norlander sixth, Seth Crockett seventh, and Jorma Kurry 11th in the men's race. Justin Freeman took second at the USATF men's masters 8K in Franklin Park in 26:13. Sarah Baker and Keri Mayo both ran PRs at the Philadelphia Marathon, Nathan Madeira clocked 2:46:11 at NYC, Cait Bourgault ran 3:07:40 for 15th overall at Every Woman's Marathon and then won the Great Osprey 10K in 39:26, and Craig Robinson posted 1:10 at the Harborside Half.
