Dirigo women pack the Maine top ten at Beach to Beacon.

Dirigo's Beach to Beacon weekend had range: Georgia Moon won the Girls High School Mile, then the women's squad put seven runners in the Maine top ten over 10K. Clíodhna O'Malley led the group in 35:10, with Heather Gallant, Bethanie Brown, Veronica Graziano, Alexis Wilbert, Aly Ursiny, and Karley Piers all close behind.

Beach to Beacon weekend started Friday night at Fort Williams, where Georgia Moon won the Girls High School Mile. Annabel Kimball and Griffin Hendrix also represented the Dirigo youth group before Saturday’s 10K took over Cape Elizabeth.

In the Maine women’s race, Dirigo was everywhere. Ruth White won her third straight Maine title, then Dirigo women filled places 2-5, 7, 8, and 10 in the Maine women’s field. Clíodhna O’Malley led the club in 35:10 as the Maine runner-up, followed by Heather Gallant in 35:23, Bethanie Brown in 35:27, Veronica Graziano in 35:27, Alexis Wilbert in 35:35, Aly Ursiny in 35:38, and Karley Piers in 36:34.

That is seven Dirigo runners in the Maine women’s top ten. Elizabeth Kanzleiter, who has since joined the team, was next in 36:44 as the 11th Maine woman.

The podium depth kept going. Gallant was the women’s masters runner-up, Wilbert was third masters woman, Marah Borgman and Michelle Lilienthal went 2-3 in W40-44, Gretchen Speed won W45-49, Kathy Werner won W50-54, and Mary Pardi was second in W55-59.

Ben Greene was Dirigo’s fastest finisher in 32:32, with Nick Denari next in 33:26. Mike Burleson broke 35 in 34:59, Jonathan Clement ran 35:14, and Rob Ashby won M55-59 in 37:14, with Rich Alff third in M50-54 in 37:18.
